Where Berkeley Repertory Theatre Is

Berkeley Repertory Theatre, often called Berkeley Rep, is a nonprofit theatre that has provided a home for emerging and established artists since 1968. Its downtown theatres and box office are at 2025 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA 94704. The administrative and mailing address is different: 999 Harrison Street, Berkeley, CA 94710.

From Nash Hotel, the theatre is about a three-minute walk. That makes a performance an easy downtown outing while staying in the area.

Berkeley Rep operates two venues: Peet’s Theatre, a 400-seat thrust-stage space, and the Roda Theatre, a 600-seat proscenium venue. The farthest seat is 44 feet from the stage in Peet’s Theatre and 49 feet in the Roda Theatre.

How to Find Current Shows and Performance Times

Productions and performance schedules change, so check Berkeley Rep’s official show listings for the current lineup and showtimes before making plans. Each production’s page is also the place to look for details that apply to that show, including age guidance and any performance-specific access options.

Berkeley Rep recommends its shows for audiences ages 5 and older. For guidance about whether a particular production is appropriate, check its show page or contact the box office.

Tickets and Box Office Information

Buy tickets through Berkeley Rep or an authorized third-party seller, such as TodayTix. The theatre warns that admission is guaranteed only for tickets bought through one of those channels. Single-ticket prices vary with availability, and weeknight performances tend to cost less than weekend ones. A $9 service charge applies to each single-ticket order, and all ticket sales are final.

Some discounts have eligibility rules and limited availability. Patrons under age 35 who qualify can buy half-price tickets with ID. California EBT or Medi-Cal cardholders can buy half-price tickets by showing the relevant card at will call. Both offers are subject to show restrictions and availability.

During season-show runs, a limited number of $25 tickets are released every Tuesday at 1pm for that week’s performances. They are sold first come, first served, so check the current show details for availability.

The box office is at 2025 Addison St. and can be reached at 510-647-2949 or customerservice@berkeleyrep.org. Its listed hours are Tuesday–Sunday, noon–7pm.

Getting to the Theatre

Public transportation is a straightforward option: the Addison Street theatres are half a block from the downtown Berkeley BART station and close to AC Transit routes. For route planning, see this guide to Berkeley public transit.

If you arrive by car, Downtown Berkeley station is about a four-minute walk from Nash Hotel. The theatre itself is close by, so you can plan to walk between downtown stops rather than drive between them.

Berkeley Rep recommends arriving 30–45 minutes before the show. The lobby opens one hour before showtime, leaving time to get settled before the performance.

If you arrive late, check in with the house manager. Staff will seat you as soon as possible, but may move you from your original ticketed location to minimize disruption.

Parking and Accessible Entry

The Center Street Garage is directly across from Berkeley Rep. The theatre lists $8 evening parking Tuesday–Sunday and hourly parking for matinees. Allston Way Garage offers a 15% discount on hourly parking and a $9 flat rate every evening; advance booking uses AirGarage promo code BKLRT2061.

Kittredge Street Garage offers Berkeley Rep patrons $5 evening parking after 4pm Tuesday–Sunday. The offer does not apply to matinees or Cal football home-game days, and you need a coupon from the house manager.

The venues are wheelchair-accessible. Check the seating charts for wheelchair-seating locations. Free assistive-listening devices, including earbuds and neck loops, are available before performances without advance reservations.

Audio description is offered at select performances. It is available to all ticket holders but requires an advance reservation; arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime to collect headphones. Closed captioning through CCTheater is available at select performances on patrons’ smartphones, with availability varying by production.

Planning a Theatre Visit from Downtown Berkeley

Keep the evening simple: check the production’s show page and ticket availability first, then choose transit or a nearby garage. If you are driving, compare the garage rules with your performance time; the Kittredge Street offer, for example, is for evening parking and has exclusions.

For a little time outdoors before or after the show, Berkeley’s parks and green spaces offer another downtown-area outing. Confirm the details that can change, including showtimes, box office hours, ticket offers, parking rates and access services: check the official site before you go.
